What we accept

Please make sure items are clean and in good condition as in no rips, stains or missing buttons on clothing and no broken small appliances or furniture.

We appreciate your donations of new or gently used, clean clothing, books, DVDs, CDs, magazines, shoes, purses, jewelry, housewares, home décor, toys, complete puzzles and games, furniture, vintage or collectable items, kitchen supplies, craft supplies or unused greeting cards, party supplies and gift bags.

What we are unable to accept

We regret that we cannot accept cribs or other baby furniture, car seats, bed pillows, mattresses and box springs, bean bag chairs, sleeper sofas, entertainment centers, undergarments, bathing suits, electronics, computers, bike helmets, building and plumbing supplies, large appliances, vehicle parts and small motorized yard tools that use gas or oil.

Where and when to donate

Donations are accepted at our drive-up doors located at the back side of the building during regular business hours. We will no longer accept donations through the front doors. If you aren’t local to Rochester or would prefer to mail a donation – check out Give Back Box. 

If you would like to donate a wheelchair or other mobility device please  email info@asecondthought.org to make arrangements to drop your donation off at our storage facility.
